May '26 Notes
A season of inspiration found in the smallest details.
Welcome to Notes — a visual journal of what’s inspiring me right now. After a season of travel and a spring spent gathering inspiration, I’ve found myself drawn to one thing over and over again: the details. For years, both fashion and interiors leaned heavily into simplicity. Clean lines, fewer accessories, less ornamentation. Lately, though, the pendulum seems to be swinging back toward a more layered and thoughtful approach.

In fashion, femininity feels stronger than it has in past years. Scarves are being styled in creative ways, jewelry is becoming more noticeable, and even the simplest outfits are elevated through intentional accessories and detail.

The same shift is happening in our homes. Trim and millwork are making a comeback, decorative details are finding their way onto cabinetry and ceilings, and antiques are being mixed with newer pieces to create spaces that feel collected rather than decorated. Clients are craving rooms with personality and character, not just beautiful finishes.
Looking through this month’s inspiration images, that’s the common thread I see. A gathered café curtain, a pleated lampshade, a patterned wallpaper, a paneled wall, a vintage-inspired detail. None of them are particularly grand on their own, but together they create spaces that feel warm, layered, and memorable.
As we head into summer, I’m feeling inspired by the classics and reminded that often it’s the smallest details that leave the biggest impression.
